New insectoacaricide for protecting vegetable crops, apple trees and strawberries from mites, thrips and mining pests
The drug belongs to the chemical group of avermectins, which are products of the vital activity of the fungus Streptomyces avermectilis. That is why drugs of this group can be classified as both chemical and biological compounds.
Vertimec quickly penetrates the leaves of plants when sprayed (within 2–4 hours), therefore it has a short contact and prolonged intestinal action. Pests die during feeding, complete death of mites occurs within 1–3 days. The drug has translaminar activity, accumulates in the leaves in the form of microreservoirs, which provides protection of the leaf from both sides. The active substance of the drug Vertimec does not have a systemic effect, does not move through the plant, does not enter the fruits and therefore does not accumulate there. Under the influence of solar radiation, the drug quickly (up to 12 hours) decomposes on the plant, due to which it practically does not affect the beneficial entomofauna.
Spectrum of action: effective against mites resistant to other acaricides, tobacco, western flower and other thrips, pear and other honeydews, mining pests.
Method of application: 10 ml package is designed to prepare 5–8 l of working solution, depending on the crop (see table). The solution should be prepared immediately before spraying. To increase the effectiveness of the drug against pests, the treatment should be carried out in the morning, evening or in cloudy weather. Spraying should ensure maximum coverage of the leaf apparatus.
Maximum number of treatments: apple tree – 3, strawberry, vegetable – 2.
Waiting time after processing: strawberries, vegetables – 7, apple tree – 14 days.
