A heat-loving perennial spicy-tasting plant. The period from germination to harvesting juicy greens is 25-28 days. The leaves are thin, oblong, strongly dissected, with a sharp nutty-mustard taste. With regular moistening, they develop a delicate taste and are less bitter. Arugula is grown in open ground, under film shelter, as well as on window sills in containers. It is used for preparing salads, as a side dish for meat and fish dishes.
