Perennial subshrub, with numerous shoots up to 60 cm tall. Leaves sessile, linear, silver-green-gray, with delicate pubescence. Flowers small, purple or blue, collected in spike-shaped inflorescences. Blooms in June - August. Together with the leaves, the flowers are used to scent baths, rooms, and to protect against moths.
