A very popular variety in Sicily with attractive long cylindrical fruits growing up to 22 cm. Eggplant with white stripes, it was called the "fairytale" eggplant. Neat, relatively thin fruits are very convenient for slicing. High-quality, dense, sweet flesh with a fine texture that absorbs little oil during cooking, with a mild, delicate taste and thin skin, made it the main eggplant for caponata. This variety is extremely adapted to hot climates. Plants 65 cm high begin to bear fruit 75 days after transplanting. An early variety. Graffiti, called Sicilian eggplant, got its name from the striped skin, decorated with strokes from dark eggplant on a white background to, conversely, white on eggplant. These stripes, unfortunately, disappear when they are cooked. One of the first varieties of eggplant, brought to Sicily by the Arabs in the 8th century. These varieties are completely versatile - they can be used in any recipe.
