A perennial medicinal plant, up to 120 cm high. It is grown by sowing seeds in early spring or before winter to a permanent place. It is used in medicine as an expectorant, anti-inflammatory and enveloping agent, in the form of tinctures and decoctions, best of all two-year-old plants. The roots are harvested in autumn or spring. The rhizomes are washed, cleaned, freed from woody parts and immediately dried, preventing yellowing, at a temperature above 35 degrees. Store in a closed container for 2-3 years.
